Abby Stoddard

Abby Stoddard, Ph.D., has over twenty years' experience working on issues in humanitarian assistance. Beginning her career as an aid practitioner, she held field and headquarters positions at CARE USA and later served as Program Director for Doctors of the World (Médecins du Monde-USA). She is a non-resident fellow at New York University's Center on International Cooperation, and the author of Humanitarian Alert: NGO Information and its Impact on US Foreign Policy (Kumarian Press, 2006) and the forthcoming Necessary Risks: Professional Humanitarianism and Violence Against Aid Workers (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019), along with numerous articles, reports, and book chapters on humanitarian action.
